Censorship

This Article was prompted by Debbie Lord's article Sept. 15th in our Daily News. In the article under the heading "Monitors Miss the Message" she chides the so-called monitors for spending their time looking for sexual innuendo in children's stories. The children's stories were specifically Disney films such as "The Little Mermaid."

The glaring truth that Ms. Lord missed is that Disney is not just selling entertainment; they are selling ideas and agendas. A good example of that is the animated film "Pocahontas. In one fell swoop, Disney rewrote the history books and made Pocahontas a new age, nature worshipper of a godless nature religion. In real life she became a Christian and a mural hangs in the Nation's Capitol honoring her baptism. In the film "The Lion King," a reoccurring theme called "the circle of life" points again to the agenda of ingraining the godless nature religion in the minds of these little ones. They are selling our children on the idea of godless animism. Only a Spiritually blind person misses it.

Does the Bible teach us to monitor or censor? (Read Proverbs 4.14-27) Notice v23 "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."

Philippians 4:8 says, "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of a good report; if there be any virtue, and it there be any praise, think on these things."

We are told by God in His word to monitor and censor ourselves!

Psalm 101:3 "I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me"

James 1:13-16 says, "Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth He any man; But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Do not err, my beloved brethren."

Psalm 14 1:3-4 "Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practice wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties." Here, the Psalmist is asking God to monitor his heart. The messages coming out of the entertainment industry are more and more covert and only the naives pass it off as pure imagination

This is why we who love the Lord and our families must monitor what is seen and heard, guarding our families from hidden messages and agendas. They are after our children's hearts and our dollars!
