The greatest victory in life is the victory over self
It is our privilege to have the Drakes as missionaries to our military, sent out of Faith Independent Baptist Church. We have known them for 38 years and have seen their dedication to Christ up close and personal. Please visit their website and place them on your prayer list. They are on deputation and will be in their field of service as soon as the necessary support level is reached.
As the Drake's sending pastor, I would be happy to answer any questions you may have, and would rejoice if the Lord would lead you to become a part of their support in both prayer and finances. May God bless you As you live for Christ.
Pastor Lev L. Humphries
I was born May 15, 1950 in LaGrange, Georgia. I was saved by the grace of God on April 23, 1972 at Peoples Baptist Church in S.E. Atlanta, Georgia under the preaching of Pastor Charles E. Wright. On January 25, 1975, I was called to preach. After preaching 30 years in pastoral ministry as senior pastor, I accepted God's calling to be a military missionary, I am an Independent Baptist, and a conservative fundamentalist in preaching, music, singing, living, using only the KJB as rule, faith and practice.
I am married to Patricia Parrott Drake, and we have been married since September 1968. Patsy was saved two weeks after I was at the same church and has stood at my side all these years in ministry. We have two children , and five grandchildren. I attended Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennesse. and graduated in 1978. I pastored New Testament Baptist in Fayetteville, Georgia from 1981 through 1993 and Fellowship Baptist Church in Wytheville, Virginia 1994 through 2010. I pastored two Chapels while at Tennessee Temple University.
The Lord has called us into Missions with BIMI in Chattanooga, Tennessee to work with our military overseas. We will be church planting, pastoring military churches, soul winning, equipping the saints, and relief work. Due to our many years of pastoral experience, BIMI has asked us to be flexible as we can be used in all phases of ministry to our military.
We began full time deputation on April 15, 2012. The Lord has opened many doors for us to raise our support. We are praying it continues, thus allowing us to arrive on the mission field by summer 2013. We give God all the glory!
Thank you for your prayers and consideration.
