An End Time Remnant

I have preached two messages in the last year on the subject above.

“Remnant” means remainder, residue, surviving, final portion in the sense of “few.” In the message I preached Sunday night February 27, I pointed out Luke 18:8 where Jesus asked, “When the Son of man cometh; shall He find faith on the earth?” I explained that conditions will be so bad and the Christian community that is true to the truth of God’s word will no doubt be a small “remnant.”

In 1 Kings 19 verses 10 and 14, Elijah answers God with these words: “I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.”

It was so bad that Elijah felt he was left alone standing for the LORD. God answers him in verse 18, “I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.” It was that bad in the Old Testament. In the Book of Judges, there was apostasy after apostasy, followed by deliverance after deliverance. The book ends with these words: 21:25 “In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.” We are not far from there today. People, even professing Christians in our time are changing so fast, going away from the truth of God so fast, that we could question: who will be living according to the truth of God’s Word when Jesus returns?

Psalm 22 is Messianic, meaning it is a foreshadowing of Messiah. Look at verses 22-31 noticing in verses 30-31 “A seed shall serve Him.” Then look at Romans 9:25-28 and Romans 11:1-6. Not only is there a remnant of Jews who will have received Messiah, but a People 9:25-27 who were no people who are now called the children of God (gentiles).

Now, there will be an end time remnant. The question to be asked and answered is “Will you be a part of that small remainder?” Please look at 1 Tim. 4:1 and 2 Thess. 2:3. The “falling away” there is apostatizes…
Apo= separation of a part from the whole
Stasis= a standing, station or state. Desertion of the principles of Faith (the Christian faith). Leaving one position and going to another.

There are 4 common denominators of an apostate:
(1.) Demons. 1 Tim. 4:1 (2.). Doctrine. 1 Tim 4:1 (3.) Defilement. Jude and (4.)Departure. 1John 2:18-19

I can name well known men who actually preached the pure gospel, had people saved and yet according to the Bible, they have become apostate. See 2 Tim. 4:3-5
Now some thoughts about the End Time Remnant:

  1. The Biblical, End Time Remnant will always preach the Blood of Christ for the salvation of man.
  2. The Biblical, End Time Remnant will always possess the Bible, The pure Word of God. We believe the KJB is the “PRESERVED WORD OF GOD.” See Psalm 12:6-7
  3. The Biblical, End Time Remnant will always partner as a body of believers in the local Church. Heb. 10:25
  4. The Biblical, End Time Remnant will always place boundaries in their lives, between them and the world. 1 John 2:15-17
  5. The Biblical, End Time Remnant will Patiently wait for the Lord Jesus Christ to come in the Rapture. 1Thess. 1:9-10; 4:13-18; Tit. 2:11-15

2 John 8, “Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.”
