The Unspeakable Gift - Revisited

What God has done for man and what He has given man could only be done by God and given by God to man.

Ephesians 3:1-12 should be read, and notice verse 8, “the unsearchable riches of Christ.” Then in verse 19 notice “and to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge.” That simply means that it is impossible to comprehend the love of Christ. It passes knowledge and is past knowing.

Man cannot comprehend why a Holy, all powerful, all knowing, eternal God, can love man enough to send His Son, Holy and undefiled and separate from sinners, to die for sinners! The miracle of Christ’s birth is even more miraculous when we consider that He was not just born of a virgin, but He died in that birth body for the sin of the world.

Now look at and read Phil. 2:5-11. Though Christ in eternity is equal with God the Father, He subjected Himself to live in a body to die for your sin and my sin. That is “unsearchable.”

Then in 2 Cor. 9:15, we see that the Gift of God’s Son is “Unspeakable.” That means, “not expounded”, not able to be expounded, not able to describe, indescribable!
If we were to take all the people of all time and take all the sin of all the people of all time and record them…then make Christ guilty of them in our place, we could not in a million years explain that! And that is exactly what 2 Cor. 5:21 tells us about Christ. “He became sin for us…”

That means in our place. He took our place on the Cross and suffered our death and judgment of God.

Man is incapable of comprehending and even describing the value and magnitude of the gift of God given through the death of Christ.

Finally, the Gift of Christ is not only “Unsearchable and Unspeakable” , but it is not “unreachable to the world.” It is the Gift only God can give, yet every man can receive! Rom. 6:23 “The wages of sin is death; but the Gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Have you received the free Gift from God? Please read John 1:11-13 and Romans 5:15-18

I hope you have opened your heart and received the Gift of God. If not, why not right now receive Christ, the “Unspeakable Gift” of God.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Faith Independent Baptist Church.
