Take The World But Give Me Jesus

Many people spend their lives looking for the bigger, better, brighter things in life. In Matthew 16:26, Jesus asked the most important question, “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” 2 Corinthians 9:15 states, “Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift.” The word “unspeakable” is referring to Jesus and it means “indescribable”, “cannot be expounded in full.” Look at Eph. 2:1-9. The two words in v.4 that deserve attention are “great love.” Great love always pays the highest price, and as we see in John 3:16, “For God so loved…that He gave.” please read 1 John 4:9-10 and Romans 5:8 tells us “God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Let me give you several thoughts on the subject, “Take the world but give me Jesus.”

  1. God only had one Son, and His name is Jesus. Jesus is the Son of God only in the sense that He was born incarnate in a body of flesh through the womb of the virgin Mary. He already was God the Son eternally existent in heaven before there was an earth. John 17:5, Eph. 4:4-6
  2. Man only has one Saviour, and His name is Jesus! 1 Cor. 8:6, Acts 4:12; John 14:6
  3. Sin only has one Solution, Jesus dying on the cross and shedding His own precious blood for the sin of the world. Rom. 3:25, 5:6, 5:8, 5:10; 1 Cor. 15:3; 1 Thess. 5:10

Please look at and read Eph. 2:8-9 Have you taken Jesus as your Saviour? Are you washed in the Blood of the Lamb? Is Christ Jesus you Lord and Saviour? If so, are you living for Him faithfully?

TAKE THE WORLD BUT GIVE ME JESUS! There is no other name…There is no other sacrifice for sin…There is no other way to heaven…IT IS CHRIST OR CRISIS! I hope you have taken Him by faith and if not…WHY NOT TODAY? Prov. 27:1 “Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
