I see thy tears

Some regrets that will die with us or go with us into eternity
I preached this message on Wednesday of this week, and wanted to share it with you. What makes it special are the several unusual elements that made it timely. First of all, We had one of our Missionaries stop in unexpectedly Sunday PM and I was going to have him give a short update on the work in Canada and then I was going to give a short message as well. However I decided to hold my message until later. I had announced on Sunday morning that I would preach Sunday PM on “God Is Able.”
After I gave the announcements and was about to get to the prayer requests, a young man which I had been talking with lately who was having some problems, came in and went straight to the Altar. ( Not a problem here at Faith) His tears of repentance wet the Altar. I turned the service over to one of our men, and another man and I went to the foyer and had the joy of seeing this broken young man rededicate his life to the Lord. He had been saved previously, but had made some bad turns in his life and it was about to cost him his marriage. I preached “God Is Able” and we all prayed, and God worked. I believe the Lord had our Missionary come by on Sunday in order for me to preach “God is Able” on Wednesday. My message follows in condensed form:
Eph. 3:13-21 are beautiful and meaningful verses full of truth. One of the greatest of these is in v.20 “Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” Faith is what puts God’s ability to work in our lives. The Bible says, “The just shall live by faith.” There are many copouts I have heard concerning faith, such as (1) “Oh, I believe God can, I just don’t know that He will.” (2) “I believe He can, I’m just not worthy.” None of us are worthy. (3) “I don’t want to bother God with that.” That statement shows a wrong view of God. (4) “I’m afraid I will ask for the wrong thing.” James 4:2 “Yet ye have not because ye ask not.”
Now I give some simple statements of fact concerning God being able.
- God is able to turn BAD NEWS into GOOD NEWS. John 11:1-7, 18-21, 32-44 See also 2 Kings 20:1-6
- God is Able to turn DISAPPOINTMENT INTO DIVINE APPOINTMENT! John 20:11-18; Lu. 24:10-31, 41, 52
- God is able to turn LITTLE INTO LOTS AND NOTHING INTO SOMETHING. John 6, 2Cor. 9:8-11; Lu 6:38; Mal. 3:10; Matt. 17:24-27
- God is able to HEAL WHEN THERE IS NO HOPE AND NO HELP.
Matt. 9:18-26; Matt. 17:14-18
- God is able to turn A SINNER INTO A SAINT. Luke 7:36-50
The problem a lot of Christians have is, they believe God was able in the times of the Bible, but they have a hard time translating that FAITH into present day life.
Hebrews 13:8 “JESUS CHRIST, THE SAME YESTERDAY, AND TODAY, AND FOREVER.”
Dear reader, God is able to meet your need. Trust Him! “Only Trust Him.”
