The greatest victory in life is the victory over self
I have heard and read all the calls for our nation to come together. I have heard and read as well the statements concerning our President "uniting us again." I have heard as well the accusations made against the so-called "Conservative Right" for causing division. Let me make a few points: For the most part, we on the conservative right have not moved. However, the left continues to move further and further away from the founding of this great nation. Additionally, to ask the Christian, conservative right to come to agreement with and even back the President's policies in total disregard to the Holy Bible is appalling. I read a letter to the Editor recently that actually claimed that Mr. Obama is being led by God in some of his radical decision making. God would never lead a president to put a pin to paper and sign into law things that God's Word opposes such as abortion, embryonic stem cell research, gay rights etc. When a President signs into law things he has promised in his campaign which are morally incomprehensible, everyone that voted for him knowing that becomes guilty with him as well. Now, in this call to "unity", someone must give in to another’s position. We cannot with clear conscience before God do that. In Daniel 3, the three Hebrews were put to the test; worship the image or die. They answered in vs. 17-18,28 and were delivered. Then in chapter 6, Daniel is tested. The "Government" got the King to sign a decree: "that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of the, O King, he shall be cast into the den of lions." V.10, Daniel did not compromise his convictions for unity and he prayed as usual. He was thrown into the den of lions and yet was delivered. The presidents and princes died in the same den of lions.
It is clear that the so-called left either does not understand or does not care that we Christians have given ourselves to the authority of God in our faith, doctrine and practice of life above all other authorities.
In Acts 4:13-22 the disciples were threatened "speak henceforth to no man in this name" and they answered in v19-20 "Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge you, For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard." Also in Acts 5:28-29 we see the charge and their answer, "We ought to obey God rather than men."
Let me begin Part 2 by quoting 1 Timothy 2:1-3 “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men: For kings, and for all that are in authority: that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.”
I pray daily for the President, Congress, Supreme Court and all those in authority. This is my Christian responsibility, however, nowhere in the Bible am I commanded to always agree with the President. I did not agree with President Bush on every issue, and stated so. In socialist states, they first lose their God, then their guns, their guts, and finally, their government. The reason the left and right will never be reconciled is that there is a vast difference between our ideologies. This is because most on the Right base their position on the Bible and it’s Author, and the Left mostly bases it’s position on a perceived “good of the people.”
We will never agree with the President’s position on Embryonic stem cell research, regardless of the positive outcome in benefit to others. This is a Bible position we take and no amount of success for human kind will change our position. We will never unify on this. Sodomy is an abomination in the sight of God. We will never agree with the president’s position on the issue based on the “equal rights” of two consenting adults. This is a Bible position we take and no amount of human reasoning or intimidation will change our position. We will never unify on this. Abortion is human murder, and God condemns it, hating “hands that shed innocent blood.” Prov. 6:17. This is a Bible position we hold and nothing will ever cause us to abandon the innocent unborn. We will never unify on this. Do I want the President to succeed? Only in the causes that are Godly, just and Biblical. Do I want him to fail? Yes, if you mean to establish a socialist state. Yes, if you mean to extend equal rights to Sodomites. Yes, if you mean to approve destroying lives in order to save lives. Yes, if you mean approving the killing of innocent, unwanted, unborn babes because they are an inconvenience. America must become all of one, or all of the other in order to be unified…and that will never happen as long as Christians are still here. We do not hate people; We just love the Lord and are unwilling to compromise our convictions for the sake of unity. After the Rapture of the Church (Christians), this world will be unified under the “One World Government” of the Antichrist. The raptured saints will be unified with Christ in Heaven. John chapters 14, 15, 16, 17.
