I see thy tears

Some regrets that will die with us or go with us into eternity
Last week I pointed out the carnal nature of man. We are all born with a carnal nature. As I pointed out last week from Romans 8:1-13, man can walk after the flesh, be weak after the flesh, be carnally minded, be at enmity with God and cannot please God. After writing the article last week, I went a little deeper with the subject and preached this past Sunday a message I titled, "Some Things Satan Loves About Our Flesh." That may be a little hard to believe, but when you think of it, Satan loves everything we do against God. He relishes the failures of man and actually is referred to as the "accuser of the brethren." In fact, the warfare with Satan takes place in the mind and is played out in the flesh, the body. Romans 8:6-7 states, "for to be carnally minded is death;... Because the carnal (fleshly) mind is enmity against God:" Satan loves our flesh because it is the tool or instrument of our disobedient, carnal mind.
Satan cannot get us to commit sin until he can get us to think it in our mind. See James 1:13-16 for this truth. Please look at John 8 and read 12-59. I came to a startling conclusion about our flesh and Satan. In verse 38 Jesus said, "I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father." Verse 41 says, "Ye do the deeds of your father." Verse 44 says, "ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do." Notice Jesus tells them they do that which they have seen with their father, they do the deeds of their father and they do the lusts of their father. The one major thing man has that Satan doesn't have is a body of flesh in which to commit sin. In verse 44 Jesus tells us Satan is a murderer. When? How? Literally? Here is your answer: Satan commits every sin known to God in the fleshly bodies of man. Cain slew Abel. Who put it into Cain's heart to do so? Satan.
Acts 5 gives the account of Ananias and Sapphira. They lied about the price of a possession sold. In Verse 3 Peter says, (and he should know) "Why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost?"
Satan loves the flesh of man because through it he can work out his wicked will and work against God and His holiness. The only answer to the problem is regeneration by the Spirit of God and determination to live for God.
Galatians 5:16 says,"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh." Verse 24 states, "And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts." This crucifixion takes place in an obedient mind!
Every sin committed by mankind has its origination in the heart of Satan. It begins as a fiery dart (Eph. 6:16) which Satan aims at our heart. The Spiritual mind takes the shield of faith and quenches it. The carnal mind fails to quench it and the flesh commits the sinful thought.
Satan is able to use a carnal mind to work out his wicked works in the flesh of man! That is why he loves it. The only answer is Salvation by Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ. That is the fatal blow to the Carnal nature of man. (See Romans 8:9)
