I see thy tears

Some regrets that will die with us or go with us into eternity
I preached on this Subject last night, September 18th. We live in a restless world and many anxieties abound. How can a person find rest to their soul? Matt. 11:28-30 gives the most direct and concise answer to this question. Jesus said, "COME unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. TAKE My yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall FIND rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light." Yoke means "join," "coupling," "connecting." Notice His yoke is easy and light. Since His yoke is easy and light, why are even saved people restless?
Many people have multiple yokes and many have mechanical yokes. Some saved people only take the yoke of Christ when it is convenient, yet Jesus said, "No man can serve two masters." A yoke connects the servant to the Master. A yoke commits the servant to the Master and a yoke commits the Master to the servant. The key to rest in a restless world is to be committed to the Good Master and He to you. There are some cruel and dangerous yokes that people take upon themselves: Drugs, immorality, alcohol, pornography, rebellion, worldliness and such are cruel yokes that drag people into Satanic slavery and sometimes premature death. Other cruel masters that rule and ruin people are popularity, position, reputation and habits that take folks away from God. Matt. 11:28-30 outlines a life or rest with the Lord:
- Come. In order to "come," you have to "leave." In order to take the yoke of Christ, you must be willing to leave some things behind, such as sinful habits, sinful friends and sinful ideals. Are you willing to leave some things behind and yoke with Christ?
- Take. The invitation
is to "take" the yoke of Christ. It is not a forced yoke. We
are invited to take His yoke. It is an invitation to submission and before
you can "take" His yoke, you will have to break other yokes.
If you cannot submit to The Authority of Jesus in every area of your life and throw off all other yokes, you will lead a restless life. You will be pulled in all the directions of the yokes you allow to stay in your life. Read Gal.5:16-26 and notice, "Walk in the Spirit."
- Find. When Christ is in control of our lives and we have fully submitted to His leadership and authority in our lives, we find rest unto our souls. Life is a restless struggle when we have many masters.
Have you taken His yoke upon you? Have you given your all to Him? Please read Rom. 12:1-2. Cast off all other yokes and Take His yoke. You will find rest in a restless world.
