Premarital Sex

While traveling Monday 4-27-98, my wife and I heard a radio news report that two 13 year olds had sex in a classroom while the teacher stood in front of the class. Supposedly, a 15 year old threatened to do them physical harm if they did not do it. How absurd! Fact is though, they did do it right there in the classroom and I am sure, in the sight of other students. It would bring us to tears and to our knees to know the unsupervised children who are engaged in premarital sex after school, while parents are at work. I know of a young woman now grown and married that had at least two abortions as a young teenager. Her mother took her to have them.

Let me say here that there are some single, pure young people out there, and I for one am proud of you and salute you! You will never be sorry.

A young teenage girl was being ridiculed by two other girls for maintaining her purity. Her reply: "I can be what you are any day, but if you live a hundred years, you could never be what I am."

Several years ago, a virgin young lady was on spring break in our state. She kept herself pure all through high school, but found herself in a hotel room with a stranger giving up her purity. He gave her a wrapped gift to be opened after they parted. She opened it to find a miniature casket with a note: "Welcome to the wonderful world of AIDS."

Three years ago, one of our church members, who lived on the property at the time, walked up on two teens (unknown to us) engaged in sex on the dirt by our building! His two young daughters were behind him. Thank God they didn't see this ungodly sight on the church property! Many parents do not realize that the entertainment industry is a tool of Satan to crank up their desires for that which God has intended to be special and sacred between a husband and wife. The music industry and the movie industry are filled with immorality. Is it any wonder that our young people are getting involved at even younger ages?

What does the Bible say? Does it matter what the Bible says?

Heb.13:4 states, "Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge."

In Genesis 2:21-25, God put Adam to sleep, took a rib and made a woman. Then God brought her to Adam and the first words out of his mouth when he came back from his state of sleep was, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh... Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh."

They did not just move in together, shack up, have an affair, etc. They were actually married. God instituted the home in the garden.

Now listen, please. Hebrews 13:4 tells us the marriage bed is honorable and the unmarried bed is defiled. Not only that, but we are told that "God will judge" sexual activity outside wedlock. Many young men and women pay a lifetime for a few minutes of pleasure. Any young person reading this article should know that you are playing Russian Roulette with your life for a few moments pleasure. You should know that if you sleep with someone who slept with 15 people, you have essentially slept with the 15 others, also. Are you willing to take that chance with your life in these days of AIDS and STDs?

Then there is the Spiritual side of sexual sin. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 has some very strong words with some very strong implications. "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind...shall inherit the kingdom of God." It is also obvious that once a person repents, accepts Christ as Lord and Saviour, that person becomes a new creature and begins to live a new life with the sins of the past forgiven through the Blood of Christ. See vs. 11 in the same place; "And such were some of you; but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." Rev. 1:5 tells us that even if we have committed these awful sins, if we come to Christ in repentance and faith, He "loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood."

If you are still pure, save yourself for that special person. If you are not pure, you can never get purity back, but you can begin to live a clean moral life from this day. If you are not saved, you must repent and receive Christ in order to be forgiven and have new and eternal life.
