I see thy tears

Some regrets that will die with us or go with us into eternity
There has been an explosion of avenues of exposure of pornography in the last decade. It should be obvious that the present Administration has been very supportive of the pornographers of our time. Pornographers are very pro-Democratic and openly admit that they fear a winning Republican ticket would be very harmful to the industry. Listen to this quote by pornographer David Schleshinger: "President Clinton is a total supporter of the (porn video) industry and hes always been on our team...He hasnt tried to quash it (adult businesses) the way that the Republicans did back in the 1980s." California government porn lobbyist Kat Sunlove agrees: "Federal obscenity prosecutions have been on the wane during the Clinton years." A Syracuse University report (TRAC, 1997) shows that obscenity prosecutions have decreased 86% since Clinton and Gore were elected. Pornographers and advocacy publications like Adult Video News have even admitted that, "adult obscenity enforcement by the federal government is practically non-existent since the administration changed." (Taken from the AFA Journal)
My motive for giving this information is not political. I am only showing why there has a been a proliferation of pornography in the last decade. Media sources have become virtual sewers of sex and many lives are ruined and homes broken as a result. You can be sure that sin is no discriminator, and Christian homes are being affected as well as non-Christian. Young lives are being scarred and ruined today, some by their own involvement and some by the involvement of others. Sexual perversion makes its way into the very soul of man and pollutes to the deepest part of man.
Read Proverbs 6:20-32 and notice vs. 27-28 especially. "Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?"
Matthew 5:27-28 states, "Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery. But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." Jesus goes on to tell of the result of an adulterous eye. 2 Peter 2:14 speaks of those "Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin;" Romans 1:24-32 speaks of sodomy, stating that they "burned in their lusts..." Verse 32 states that they, "not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them." They have pleasure seeing others in the act. To be continued.
Please see Part 1 on Pornography. I gave Proverbs 6:27-28, which states, "Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?"
I also gave Matthew 5:27-28 which states emphatically that, "whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart."
I have heard many men say, "well, it doesnt hurt anything to look." This is not consistent with the clear teaching of Scriptures. According to the above verses I have given and a number that I have not given, a man can commit the act of adultery with a woman in his heart! I also gave 2 Peter 2:14 which tells of sinful men, "Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls:" This verse supports the idea that a man can commit adultery in his heart with his eyes and never touch a woman. Now, going back to Proverbs 6:27, it is easy to see that when a man looks at pornographic pictures, he is bringing a fire in his bosom that is going to burn. Romans 1:27 says, "And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another;" 1 Cor. 7:9 states, "But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn." Notice the words "burned" and "burn" in these verses. They mean: To be ignited; to kindle, to be inflamed or inflame deeply. When a person looks at pornography, he is taking fire in his bosom that will inflame him, kindle a fire in him, inflame him to lust after the forbidden. 1 Thess. 4:1-12 should be read and notice especially vs.3-5. Verse 3 "abstain from fornication", vs. 4 "possess his vessel in sanctification and honour", v5 "Not in the lust of concupiscence." Concupiscence means, "lust for the forbidden."
When a person looks at pornography, he ignites a fire in his bosom for that which is forbidden. Sir, you cannot look at pornography without igniting a burning desire for that which is forbidden. Sir, if you are caught in this trap, you need to know that this will eventually lead to deception, lies, seduction, failure and shame. In Part 3, I will give examples of how the satanic trap is laid and how to avoid falling into this trap.
Please refer to Part 1 and 2 for Scripture references I have given on this subject. Paul told Timothy in 1 Tim. 4:1, "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils." I personally believe that demon influence is involved in immorality, whether it be sodomy, fornication, adultery or pornography. You should read Ephesians 6:10-18 and notice that a Christian is not prepared for battle with the devil and his demons unless he or she has on the "whole armour of God." Verse 12 describes the battle as not fought with flesh, rather "against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." We must understand that Satan has his methods of bringing a person into bondage. Verse 11 states this armour is necessary so "that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." "Wiles" means methods. Now notice that in this Spiritual warfare there are many contenders. Principalities= First in rank. Powers= Superhuman strength or ability. Rulers of the darkness= epithet of Satan. A world ruler. Spiritual wickedness in high places= Depravity, In the heavenlies. I am certainly against the producers of pornography, however, the problem goes deeper than the mere publishing of it. Look at John 8:34-44 and notice vs.34, "Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin." Vs.38 "I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father." Vs. 41, "Ye do the deeds of your father." Vs.44, "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." It is abundantly clear that there is a Satanic, demonic influence involved in the temptation to commit immorality. It has been my experience over these years of pastoring to find an unusual ability in immoral people to lie, deceive, connive and their way out of facing their sin. The most proficient liars I have ever met are immoral people. They got that ability from "the father of lies." Five times in the above verses, Satan is referred to as "father", four referring to him as their father, and one time as "a liar, and the father of it." Please understand that there is more involved in pornography, immorality, sodomy, fornication and such like perversion that just the look, the thought, or the act. There is Satanic, demonic influence.
How does one stay out of the trap? How does one get out of the trap? The answer is found in James 1:13-25. Vs. 21, "Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls."
