Nudity (Updated)

Nudity means bare. A person can be bare without being totally naked. There are only a few reasons a person would want to be bare: 1. Proud and showy. 2. Seductive. 3. Feeling insecure or unattractive in other ways, to name a few.

Nudity is as old as man. In Genesis 2:25, Adam and Eve were naked and not ashamed before sin entered the world. In fact, they were alone at the time. Note however in 3:7, the moment Adam committed the sin that brought sin into the world, "the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked." Moral consciousness came with sin. Genesis 3:9-10 tells us God called Adam and asked, "Where art thou?" to which in verse 10, Adam said, "I was afraid because I was naked;" Nakedness is a symbol of rebellion against God. (Exodus 32:1-28)

Nakedness is a shame, a sin, and an abominable custom condemned by God. (Lev. 18:1-30). Nakedness is compared to whoredoms, Ezekiel 23:29, and provokes the sensual heart of man! (Genesis 9:22-25) Please read this one! Ham saw the nakedness of his father and committed a perverted sexual act upon him.

Nakedness is accompanied by demonic activity. Luke 8:26-39, and mental derangement, verse 35. When the demoniac met Jesus, and the demons were cast out, he got in his "right mind" and put on some clothes.

Nakedness is less than animal-like; even animals have clothes. God used them to cover Adam and Eve's nakedness, showing by it that man is Spiritually naked and can only be covered by the blood of Jesus Christ His Son (Genesis 3:21). In Revelation 3:17-18, nakedness is a type of sin and shame, while clothing is a type of the righteousness of Christ which we receive when we receive Christ as Saviour. Thank God for the Lamb which was slain for the sins of the world! Are you covered with the Blood of Christ?
