The greatest victory in life is the victory over self
I am continuing in answer to the question: "Is Freemasonry compatible with Christianity" as asked by the Southern Baptist Convention.
Many professed Christians in the Lodge Defend Freemasonry and even apply Christian Interpretations to Masonic symbols, but for the most part in the recognized Masonic writers and authoritative authors do not.
So, you can defend and shout and become angry with us for showing that the basic belief of Masonry in Occult, as long as you apply Christian Interpretations to occult symbols. Please don't forget that Albert Pike is buried 13 blocks North of the White House in the house of The Temple. This man spoke for Freemasonry and he did not speak from a Christian point of view. His Morals and Dogma can still be purchased from Masonic Publisher, McCoy.
Listen to what Pike says: "Nothing excites men's curiosity so much as Mystery, CONCEALING things which they desire to know: and nothing so much increase curiosity as OBSTACLES that interpose to prevent then from indulging in the gratification of their desires. Of this the Legislators and Hietophants took advantage, to attract the people to their sanctuaries, and to induce to them to seek to obtain lessons from which THEY WOULD PERHAPS HAVE TURNED AWAY WITH INDIFFERENCE, if they had been pressed upon them." Morals Page 384
So you see, Curiosity to know the unknown is used to draw in the curious.
Now, is it right for you Dear Profession Christian, to belong to a secret order which conceals and in fact, misleads you from one degree to another, and covers the real meaning of the symbols from you because if you knew the real meaning, obviously you would not continue?
Listen to Waite:"...the newly received Brother has come into a world of EMBLEMS or SYMBOLISM and WHATSOEVER takes place therein has a meaning BEHIND IT, being one which is NOT ALWAYS INDICATED ON THE SURFACE." Encyclopedia of Freemasonry page 395
And Pike said: "The symbols and ceremonies of Masonry have MORE THAN ONE MEANING. They rather CONCEAL than disclose the Truth."
THE INITIATE IS INTENTIONALLY LEAD ASTRAY AND GIVEN FALSE INTERPRETATIONS OF THE SYMBOLS AND CEREMONIES. I HAVE ALREADY QUOTED PIKE ON THAT SUBJECT.
HERE IS MY BIG POINT: WHY DO YOU PROFESSION CHRISTIANS IN THE LODGE CONTINUE TO DEFEND MASONRY BASED UPON FALSE INTERPRETATIONS YOU RECEIVED IN YOUR INITIATION? YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN TOLD YOU WERE LIED TO AND MISLED!
PIKE ADDS: "Masonry, like all the Religions, all the Mysteries, Hermeticism and Alchemy, CONCEALS its secrets from ALL EXCEPT the Adepts and Sages, or the Elect, and USES FALSE EXPLANATIONS AND MISINTERPRETATIONS of its symbols to MISLEAD those who deserve to be misled; to CONCEAL the Truth, which it calls Light, from them, and to dray them away from it." Morals pp. 105,105
IT IS QUITE OBVIOUS THAT "THE TRUTH" IN BOTH PIKE'S QUOTES MEANS: THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT MASONRY ACTUALLY BELIEVES.
