The Resurrection was required for eternal life

The greatest victory in life is the victory over self
Herein begins the most complicated subject I have approached yet. The reasons for this are the lack of consistency within the Lodge and lack of consistency without the Lodge. Obviously there is an attempt to cover or confuse through the use of symbols and many times a dual application of the symbols, one Christian and the other pagan. On the one hand, it claims not to be a religion, on the other hand it is claimed to be such by those within. Other writers or speakers claim it is religious but not a religion. There is no doubt that good works are a part of the Lodge, however, good works are not a basis for Christians being involved in any Lodge, Society or Organization. This is the Scriptural responsibility of the Local Church. Members of the Lodge refer to each other as "Brother" and most of the prayers are made to a common god (little "g" for emphasis). This must mean that the Professed Christian in the Lodge accepts the multiplicity of gods and ways to heaven and also accepts other religious books in addition to the Bible authoritative in faith and practice, which then must mean that Jesus is not the only way to Heaven.
Then there is a matter of sworn oaths which violate the clear commands of the Bible. I will deal with these later, however, if it is symbolic (the oath), why in the name of common sense would a Christian swear it? Wouldn't that make him either a liar or a traitor?
Obviously, many men enter the lodge not because it is "Christian" but because it is a unity of people sworn to one another in this life.
Strange still is the fact that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ is not spoken in the Lodges. The question any Christian in the Lodge should ask is "Why not?"
The candidate for Entered Apprentice Mason at one point states in response to the question, "Why did you leave the West and travel to the East?" to which he responds, "IN SEARCH OF LIGHT." It should be observed that JESUS STATED IN JOHN 8:12 "I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD; HE THAT FOLLOWETH ME SHALL NOT WALK IN DARKNESS, BUT SHALL HAVE THE LIGHT OF LIFE."
Now Please, Please, Please, I am digging through volumes of material on the subject. I can't cover it all; I can't expose everything. I promise to be honest, thorough and objective in these articles. This is not an attack, nor have I had any problems with any Mason to my knowledge.
