The Resurrection was required for eternal life

The greatest victory in life is the victory over self
Paul writing to the Corinthians in 2 Cor.4:3-6 said, "But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God should shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."
With all the rhetoric running through our news outlets these days, I feel it is necessary to point out from the Bible who the lost are. What does a person have to do to be lost? Are we all born lost? Are only Christians saved? Is there only one "plan of Salvation?" Are people of other religions which reject Jesus Christ Saved? Lost? If all people are born sinners and therefore lost, is it absolutely necessary to accept Christ to be saved?
Jesus said in Matt. 16:26, "For what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?" Then in Matt. 18:11 Jesus said, "For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost..." A people must realize their lost condition before they can or will be saved. Jesus dealt with the subject in John 8 and the minds of the Jews were blinded to the truth of their condition. (Read vs. 12-59) Notice v12, "I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." v13 they respond, "Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true." Then in v21 he tells them, "I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins;" In v24 Jesus repeats, "I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins." In vs. 32-33 Jesus said, "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?"
If a person cannot become lost, he or she cannot become saved! Read the rest of the chapter and notice v44-45, "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do....And because I tell you the truth, ye believe not me." In v59 we see, "Then took they up stones to cast at him: But Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by." Chapter 9 continues with the account of the man blind from birth. Jesus heals him and the Pharisees are told. They question the man and in v24, tell him to "Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner." The man responds, "Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see." In v35-38 Jesus asked, "Dost thou believe on the Son of God? He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him? .... it is he that talketh with thee.......And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him."
Notice in v40 the Pharisees ask Jesus, "Are we blind also?" We are all born lost sinners and we all have to be Born Again through belief on Christ in order to be saved. ALL WHO REJECT CHRIST ARE LOST!
