Generosity

1 Chronicles 29:9: "Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy."

Psalm 37:21: "The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth."

Luke 6:38: "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again."

Matthew 5:42: "Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away."

Proverbs 3:9-10: "Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine."

2 Corinthians 9:6-7: "But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: FOR GOD LOVETH A CHEERFUL GIVER."

Malachi 3:10-11: "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts."

Let me say at the beginning that I have never asked for an offering and never will. I agree with you folks about these begging, slobbering rascals who "must save their ministry." Listen, if it is of God, it doesn't need our protection!

Acts 5:39 says, "But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God."

Our stance here at Faith is, "God's work done God's way never lacks God's support" and "If we'll tend to God's business, He'll tend to our business, and what better hands to leave our business in?"

Now, if you are saved and know it, we would like to have you praying for us. WE DON'T WANT YOUR MONEY! OUR WORK IS OF GOD AND THEREFORE SUPPORTED BY GOD THROUGH HIS PEOPLE IN THIS LOCAL CHURCH. IN FACT, WE DON'T NEED YOUR MONEY. OUR MEMBERS GIVE THROUGH THIS LOCAL CHURCH AND BY GOD'S GRACE "WE ARE DEBT FREE" AND HAVE NEVER ASKED ANYONE TO "SIGN, PLEDGE, PROMISE, SELL, OR BAKE" ANYTHING! AND WE HAVE HAD 2 MAJOR BUILDING PROGRAMS IN THREE YEARS, BUILT DEBT FREE AND WITH MONEY IN THE BANK WHICH GOD IS ALLOWING TO ACCUMULATE FOR FUTURE WORK FOR HIS GLORY! (Note: Since this article was written, we have gone through another building program, done debt free.)

I'm sure that will rattle some folks, but I am sure God doesn't want the world financing His work!

HERE IS THE KEY: "GOD LOVETH A CHEERFUL GIVER". THE MOTIVE IS AS IMPORTANT AS THE AMOUNT, AS LONG AS THE AMOUNT IS WHAT GOD LEADS YOU TO GIVE. A GOOD ATTITUDE IN GIVING IS THIS: "GIVE TO GET, TO GIVE TO GET, TO GIVE TO GET, ETC." WE CAN NEVER OUT-GIVE GOD!
